Step 1 if you have spent to much time in the sun or been sunburnt is to make sure you take yourself out of the sun and hydrate. It is always a good idea to take a water bottle with you on holiday as this will remind you to keep drinking water throughout the day.

Step 2 is to COOL DOWN! Take a cold shower or sit in an cool room to begin to soothe your skin.

As well as this you could add cooling packs to further aid the burn.

Step 3 use one of the following products to your skin.

One product which is perfect to apply to sunburnt skin is aloe vera gel. Aleo vera has cooling, moisturising and soothing properties which will help your skin recover from the sun damage.

Make sure you apply a good amount to ensure all the burn is covered and with a solid layer of gel in order to get the most out of the product.

Another product which helps repair your skin after sun damage is Hydrocortisone cream which can be otherwise known as ‘itch cream’. This product helps alleviate itchiness and further soothe your skin.

Once you have some products applied to your skin, avoid tight clothing, sitting in the sun and make sure you stay hydrated and keep rested.

If your burns are serious make sure you seek medical attention. It is common people don’t make the purchases of soothing products like these prior to going on holiday, don’t make the mistake of waiting until you’re sunburnt!
