Why you need powder as part of your make up routine.

ESSENCE POLVOS BRIGHTEN UP! BANANA POWDER

Are you struggling to find a powder to suit your skin? Unsure whether powder will make your make up routine worse? Not sure how or when to apply powder?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions then keep reading to find out the answers!

Why do we use powder and will it make your make up routine worse? There are a few reasons why powder is used during the make up process. Firstly, it helps to set your make up into place meaning it lasts longer and the make up doesn’t transfer onto clothes.

Powder has even more of an effect with people who have oilier skin, the powder works to add a matte finish. The matte finish also helps to conceal some skin details like pores and creating a smooth finish.

There are some reasons for why powder may not be for you, if you have extremely dry skin powder may further dry your complexion leading to patchy make up. Some peoples make up routines look better without powder which is a personal preference.

But if you think powder is for you, there are various stages you can apply your powder throughout your make up routine and can even be applied on multiple occasions.

Powder is often applied once all your wet make up products have been applied like your foundation and concealer.

This allows the powder to set you’re make up and is often referred to as ‘baking’. However, some routines may require further application on parts which tend to be more oily like the T-zone. Additional powder can be added here as well as touch ups throughout the day!

Similar to using powder or not using powder, how often and where you apply it is up to you however be aware of a cakey look which may form due to an excess of product being used.

Here are a range of products to help you decide your ideal powder!
