Why is it so important to wear suncream everyday?

Sun Bum Original SPF 30/50 Sun Cream Spray

There are many reasons for why you should use suncream or an SPF product as part of your everyday skincare routine.

This blog post will detail the potential risks you could be causing yourself by not using SPF and some exceptional products which you should add into your daily routine ASAP!

Before revealing the perfect SPF products to ensure your skin is glowing, we will discuss why it is so important to wear suncream everyday.

Firstly SPF works to protect your skin from skin cancer. SPF blocks UV rays which damages skin though over exposure causing sunburn and ups the chance of being diagnosed with skin cancer. By ensuring you’re applying SPF each day, this will dramatically improve the way your skin ages and your overall skin health.

Before selecting which SPF product suits you best there are different factors which you will need to consider. Depending on your skin type and how sensitive you are to the sun, the SPF strength will vary. However, SPF 15 is the lowest you should go for everyday wear in order to fully maximise protection and to get the most out of everyday use.

It is a common misconception that if the sun isn’t out, your skin can’t be damaged but this is completely wrong. UV rays exist always and it is so important you protect your skin each day.

Here are a recommended list of SPF products ranging in price, SPF level and features. This blog will allow you to find the perfect SPF moisturiser for you!

The first product is CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion which has SPF 30. This moisturiser has a strong SPF which will offer a solid base for sun protection. As it is a moisturiser it has qualities in order to keep your skin hydrated and feeling smooth.

CeraVe work hard to ensure their products are available for customers with different skin types whether this is dry, oily or sensitive and this product caters to all. This moisturiser is priced around £25.

This is a reasonable price for what the product offers however, it is not water resistant which may not work for some consumers.

The next product is NIVEA UV Face Shine Control with SPF 50. This has a higher SPF ensuring full and long lasting coverage. Reviews are positive and detail its lightweight formula leaving a smooth feeling after effect.

This product is more of a suncream rather than a moisturiser however suits all skin types and offers strong SPF whilst only costing £8.

This next moisturiser is Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Gel Cream with SPF 25. This product costs around £9 which is very reasonable. This product focuses on its hydrating qualities as well as providing SPF coverage. It is made without oil ingredients which it makes it a perfect product for people with oily skin.

This product can be applied in the morning as well as the evening which allows you to save money. Overall if you are on a budget but still require a strong SPF as well as a product which considers sensitive and specifically oily skin then this is the product for you!

The next product is 360 Oil-Free Gel by Heliocare with SPF 50. This product has the USP of protecting you against UVA & UVB rays. These are different types of UV, ultraviolet a and ultraviolet b.

They vary in wavelength and how they can harm you so it is great that this product can protect you from both.

Although this product is slightly on the pricier side, it provides a high level of SPF coverage, hydrating and lightweight product to the skin.

The final SPF product is the Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser by Aveeno with SPF 30. This is the most expensive product from this blog however it has many qualities which justify this price.

The SPF aspect of this product is not the focus of this product. Aveeno aimed to create a moisturiser which improved consumers skin complexion as well as ensure it wouldn’t harm sensitive skin.

This moisturiser still provides a high level of SPF which is a huge bonus. However, it does have a scent to the product which may disagree with certain skin types and preferences.

This product is perfect for someone with a higher price range with the end goal of improving their skin whilst maintaining their SPF application within their everyday skincare routine.

As you have read there is a huge range of SPF products which are available on the market today. Of course this is only a small selection however from this group there will be a product to suit your exact skin goals.

Remember to consider all your personal factors such as skin type and budget before making your decision of your SPF product of 2023.

Always remember to apply your SPF daily!
