If you have more oily skin it may benefit you to use them more frequently around three times a week compared with more dry skin which is about once every ten days.

You may need to adapt this timeline to suit your skin type.

There are many benefits which you can get from face masks. These include hydration, exfoliation, help with acne, cleansing and anti-aging properties.

During this blog we will show you some face masks which vary in properties to suit different skin types.

First up we have the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask. As you can see by the name it specialises in detoxifying. It is made from clay and cleanses the skin by removing all the dirt.

`Due to this it leaves the face bright and smooth feeling. It is easily applied and only stays on the face for 10 minutes maximum.

This mask is more suited to oiler skin and can dry certain skin types out.

Next up we have the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask.

This has very similar properties to the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask. It is again suited to oilier skin, helps to clear out pores and is a deep cleanser.

This product is made from all natural ingredients which makes it more suited to more sensitive skin and works towards smoothing out skin.

This mask is left on for 10-15 minutes prior to washing off. It does have fragrance which means it could irritate certain skin types.

The next product is we have the Elemis Superfood Berry Boost Mask. This mask is full of ingredients which are full of vitamins and antioxidants. This helps to hydrate and leave the skin feeling smooth.

It is a moisturising mask with a creamy texture and due to cucumber being part of the ingredients this soothes the skin removing any redness or irritation.

Due to the consistency, it may be too heavy for some peoples preferences.

The next face mask we have is the Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask. The main selling point of this mask is the hydrating properties leaving your skin hydrated.

The rose helps to soothe your skin and as the formula is gel this adds to the calming and refreshing feeling it leaves you with.

It does have a floral scent which may not suit everyones preferences as well as may irritate some skin types.

Next up we have the REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. Due to the blend of acidic ingredients this face mask deeply exfoliates and regenerates your skin.

The formula is vegan friendly and aims to avoid any harmful ingredients due to this, it is suitable for most skin types. It is quick to use with it only taking 10 minutes.

It is important to read the instructions due to the ingredients being strong, if left on for too long this could damage your skin. It is advised you take a patch test prior to use.

Moving onto the Dr. Organic Tea Tree Face Mask. This mask targets acne due to the tea tree oil ingredient. Tea tree oil helps to targets spots and dries them out.

Due to its natural ingredients this offers a deeply cleansing mask leaving your skin feeling smooth and bright.

This mask is suited to oilier skin which is especially acne prone. This can mean it can dry certain skin types out.

Another face mask is The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This face mask has a very strong formula and a patch test is recommended.

Similarly to the Dr. Organic Tea Tree Face Mask it is targeted towards acne prone skin. The acid works to break down the acne to remove it.

This leaves the skin bright, smooth and rejuvenated. However, this means it is not suited to all skin types and can damage sensitive or dry skin.

The final face mask we have is the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. This is a more gentle formula meaning it works with more sensitive skin.

It can be used to refresh, brighten and smooth your skin. It is applied quick and easily, with the maximum time being 10 minutes.

Its natural ingredients work together well with the skin to get the best out of the product.

Face masks in general are beneficial and can improve your skin health. However, it is key to be aware of what you’re putting onto your skin as well as reading the instructions thoroughly.
